Momentum Builder

The elation was clear on Thursday night after the win against the Oilers, the rollercoaster of emotions were evident and so was the significance of a moment like that this season.
Earlier today, defenseman Brendan Smith, one of the veterans of the club, shared his thoughts on the impact of a win like that.
"It was a huge win," Brendan Smith said of last night's come-from-behind victory against the Edmonton Oilers. "we're going to need a couple of those wins throughout the year to be a good team. It's a momentum builder too, and it just shows that you can do it."

Mackenzie Misses Practice

Mackenzie Blackwood left the game against the Edmonton Oilers, clearly in significant pain after he awkwardly fell while making a save on the Oilers power play in the second period. Today in Calgary he was absent from practice, with Vitek Vanecek and Jonathan Bernier manning the nets at practice.
The status of Blackwood remains unknown until he meets with Calgary doctors today, per Lindy Ruff.

Nico Meets Claude

The Devils had a special visitor at today's practice as former player Claude Vilgrain, the first black player in Devils franchise history, stopped by to see the Devils skate at the practice facility. Nico Hischier made sure to stop and chat with Vilgrain, the two spent several minutes talking hockey.
