Nothing brings two people together like the Capitals.
Lifelong Capitals fan Charlie Rickwald was an original '74-75 Caps fan and has been coming to games all his life. Moira, however, was not originally a hockey fan but that all changed once she met her future husband Charlie. "He turned my whole family and me into Caps fans," said Moira. Charlie and Moira tied the knot on Friday donning jerseys of their favorite Capitals, Tom Wilson and Alex Ovechkin. In order to properly celebrate their nuptials, Charlie splurged on tickets to Saturday night's game against the Panthers so he and his bride could take in a game right behind the Caps bench.
Although they're calling the Caps game the start of their honeymoon, they will go on a full honeymoon in June. Where to? Russia! Charlie is fluent in the language and he also studied Russian literature. Naturally as Ovechkin fans, they decided on the country for their honeymoon destination to dive into the culture and see where the great number 8 grew up. As a wedding gift, the Capitals gave the newlyweds a pair of signed pucks to go up on the wall next to their wedding photos. Happy Valentine's Day to all Capitals fans!
