The Washington Capitals have acquired a third-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft (originally from San Jose) from the Pittsburgh Penguins for forward Hendrix Lapierre, senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick announced today.
The Capitals currently own four picks in the 2026 NHL Draft, eight picks in the 2027 NHL Draft and eight picks in the 2028 NHL Draft.
Lapierre, 24, recorded 47 points (13g, 34a) in 158 career games with Washington. He was drafted by the Capitals in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft.
