Greg Cohen, an avid Caps fan and hockey player from Potomac, MD passed in July 2020 after a courageous four year battle with osteosarcoma.

He played for the Montgomery Youth Hockey growing up and then played Wootton Patriots. He then extended his love for playing to coaching for the Patriots, helping to lead them to a state championship.
Greg was able to celebrate his favorite team's Stanley Cup win and during his fight with cancer, Caps players T.J. Oshie and Nicklas Backstrom spent some time with him to keep his spirits high.
Jennie remembers how Nicklas Backstrom came over the day that they were leaving for one of Greg's surgeries to surprise him, which meant the world to him. The signed jersey stayed up in their hallway.

She also said that Greg met TJ Oshie right before his leg amputation, and he walked away really appreciating the genuine conversation.
