AGAINST PITTSBURGH

The Blackhawks host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday evening at United Center. Sunday’s game is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Blackhawks are 9-2-0 in their last 11 games against the Penguins at United Center. Chicago has also earned points in 15 of their last 19 overall games against Pittsburgh (14-4-1). Forward Jason Dickinson has registered points (1G, 3A) in three of his last four games against the Penguins. Defenseman Matt Grzelcyk has logged assists (3A) in three of his last five games against Pittsburgh. He posted career highs in assists (39) and points (40) in 82 games as a member of the Penguins during the 2024-25 campaign.

LAST TIME OUT

The Blackhawks defeated the Dallas Stars in a shootout, 4-3, on Saturday night at American Airlines Center. Tyler Bertuzzi scored two goals, while Alex Vlasic notched two assists and logged a season-high 25:45 of time on ice. Jason Dickinson also found the back of the net and added four hits against his former team. Artyom Levshunov and Connor Murphy each recorded an assist. Landon Slaggert also posted an assist and led all skaters with five hits. Arvid Soderblom made 28 saves on 31 shots (.903 SV%) for his fourth victory of the season. Chicago outshot the Stars, 33-31, and went a perfect 4-for-4 (100%) on the penalty kill.

TYLER THE CREATOR

Forward Tyler Bertuzzi scored two goals on Saturday against the Stars and has tallied 28 points (18G, 10A) in 34 games in 2025-26. He’s now two goals shy of logging his third-straight 20-goal season and the sixth of his NHL career. Bertuzzi ranks second on the team in goals and points, while ranking sixth in assists. He also shares sixth in the NHL with eight power play goals this season and is two shy of matching his career high.

VLASIC ROCK

Defenseman Alex Vlasic logged two assists against Dallas on Saturday for his second multi-point game of the season (2A on Oct. 15 at STL). He now has three helpers over his last three games. Vlasic recorded two blocked shots against the Stars and leads the club with 57 blocked shots in 36 games this season. The blueliner also posted a season-high 25:45 of time on ice against Dallas and leads the team with an average time on ice per game of 21:04 in 2025-26.

MURPH AND TURF

Defenseman Connor Murphy recorded an assist against Dallas on Saturday and also notched three blocked shots. He now ranks second on the club with 53 blocked shots this season. Murphy (525) is set to pass Jeremy Roenick (524) in Blackhawks games played on Sunday evening against Pittsburgh. Murphy will move into 38th all-time on the Blackhawks games played list.

December 28, 1985: The Blackhawks defeated the Washington Capitals, 7-4, at Capital Centre. Forward Steve Ludzik notched four points (3G, 1A), including his first career NHL hat trick. Goaltender Bob Sauve made 41 saves on 45 shots (.911 SV%) for the victory.
Chicago alumni goaltender Gilles Villemure made 50 saves on 60 shots against the Penguins on Feb. 21, 1976. His 50 saves are the most logged by a Blackhawks goalie in a single game against Pittsburgh all-time. His 10 goals against are also the most given up to the Penguins in Blackhawks history.
