AGAINST NEW YORK

The Blackhawks continue their three-game homestand on Tuesday night as they host the New York Islanders at United Center. Tuesday’s game is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Blackhawks have earned points in 10 of their last 13 games against the Islanders at United Center (10-3-0). Chicago is also 15-8-2 in their last 25 overall games against the Islanders and Teuvo Teravainen has notched seven points (2G, 5A) in his last seven games against the Islanders, including two multi-point games. He leads all club skaters with 15 assists and shares first with 24 points in 30 career games against New York. LAST TIME OUT

The Blackhawks fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins, 7-3, on Sunday evening at United Center. Nick Foligno appeared in his first game since Nov. 15 and scored his first goal of the season. Tyler Bertuzzi and Wyatt Kaiser each scored once while Colton Dach and Sam Lafferty each tallied an assist and four hits. Ryan Greene recorded an assist and went 8-for-13 (61.5%) in the faceoff circle. Jason Dickinson and Connor Murphy each notched an assist while Artyom Levshunov led all skaters with 23:20 of time on ice.

FLIG OF THE WRIST

Captain Nick Foligno appeared in his first game since Nov. 15 on Sunday against Pittsburgh and scored his first goal of the season. He’s now logged seven points (1G, 6A) in 16 games in 2025-26. He posted two hits against the Penguins and ranks fourth on the club with 43 hits this season. Foligno also leads the club with a 51.8% faceoff win percentage (min. 150 faceoffs). The forward is set to appear in his 1,250 career NHL game on Tuesday and will become the 17th U.S. born skater in league history to hit the milestone.

PAPA MURPH

Blueliner Connor Murphy recorded an assist on Sunday and has points (2A) in consecutive games for the first time since Dec. 15-17, 2024 (1G, 1A). He ranks second on the club with 53 blocked shots in 38 games in 2025-26. The defenseman also posted three hits against Pittsburgh and ranks second among team defensemen with 40 hits this season. Murphy appeared in his 525th career game as Blackhawk on Sunday, passing Jeremy Roenick (524). He is now nine games shy of tying Marian Hossa (534) for games played in a Blackhawk jersey.

COBRA KAISER

Defenseman Wyatt Kaiser found the back of the net on Sunday against the Penguins, setting a single-season career high with nine points (4G, 5A) in 37 games this season. He also matched his single-season career-high four goals from the 2024-25 campaign. Kaiser has now registered points (2G, 1A) in three of his last six games. He ranks first among club blueliners with four goals, while his nine points ranks third.

Dec. 30, 1986: The Blackhawks defeated the New York Islanders, 5-3, at Nassau Coliseum.  Denis Savard notched three points (1G, 2A), while Steve Larmer scored two goals. Savard leads the Blackhawks all-tome with 41 points (16G, 25A) in 32 career games against the Islanders, while Larmer leads with 24 goals.
The Blackhawks and New York Islanders played to a 4-4 tie during their first all-time meeting on Oct. 28, 1972 at Nassau Coliseum. Cliff Koroll scored the Blackhawks first goal all-time against the Islanders, with assists going to Stan Mikita and Chico Maki. Chicago won the season series against New York during the 1972-73 season, winning four of the five meetings.
