The Colorado Eagles took the series lead over the Fort Wayne Komets with a 4-3 double overtime win on Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.
Colorado Avalanche goaltending prospect Joe Cannata made 51 saves in the win, including 12 in extra time, and Brady Shaw scored the game-winner 2:38 into the second overtime stanza.

Michael Joly led the Eagles offensively with the game-tying goal in the third period and two assists while Matt Garbowsky also had a marker and two helpers.
Avalanche prospects defenseman Nicolas Meloche and forward Julien Nantel each finished the contest with a plus-1 rating. Travis Barron had three shots on goal and J.C. Beaudin played in his second contest back since missing two games with an upper-body injury.
Colorado returns home on Tuesday for Game 6 and the Eagles will have a chance to win the best-of-seven series in the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The winner of this third-round matchup will take on the Florida Everblades, who won the Eastern Conference on Saturday by defeating the Adirondack Thunder in five games.
