Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Winnipeg Jets

Bell MTS Place, 6 p.m. MT, TV: Altitude, Radio: 950 AM
The Avalanche opens an 11-day, five-game road trip Tuesday night in Winnipeg, the first of four games between the Central Division opponents. The Avs finished 3-2-0 against the Jets last season, and after dropping the first two meetings of the season series, won the last three contests by a combined score of 14-4.

Thursday, Nov. 14 at Edmonton Oilers

Rogers Place, 7 p.m. MT, TV: Altitude, Radio: 950 AM
Two of the Western Conference's top teams meet on Thursday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton. It's the first of three matchups between the Avs and the Oilers. Edmonton will make it's lone visit to Denver on Nov. 27, and Colorado will head back to Edmonton on March 25 to close out the season series.

Saturday, Nov. 16 at Vancouver Canucks

Rogers Arena, 8 p.m. MT, TV: Altitude, Radio: 92.5 FM
The Avs make their first of two trips to Vancouver for a matchup with the Canucks on Saturday night. Colorado was 1-1-1 against Vancouver last season. The clubs will close out their three-game season series in March when they meet twice in eight days.

Player Spotlight: Cale Makar

Makar was named the NHL's Third Star for the week ending Nov. 10. He is the second Avalanche rookie to be named one of the three weekly stars, joining Matt Duchene (Third Star, Nov. 30-Dec. 6, 2009), and just the third Colorado defenseman to earn the honors, joining John-Michael Liles (Second Star, Nov. 15-21, 2010) and Tyson Barrie (Third Star, Jan. 4-10, 2016). Makar recorded a career-high three points in Thursday's victory over Nashville and followed that up with a pair of goals in Saturday's win over Columbus. He is just the second rookie defensemen in Avalanche/Nordiques history to post consecutive multi-point outings, joining David Pichette (Dec. 7-10, 1980). Cale's three-point effort was only the second ever by an Avalanche rookie defenseman (Kevin Shattenkirk, Nov. 27, 2010 vs. Minnesota) and he was the first Avs rookie defenseman to score two goals in a game.
