The 2020 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series between the Colorado Avalanche and the Los Angeles Kings at the U.S. Air Force Academy's Falcon Stadium will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. MT. It will mark the second time the NHL has brought a regular-season outdoor game to a U.S. service academy following the 2018 NHL Stadium Series contest between Toronto and Washington at the U.S. Naval Academy. This is the second time the Avalanche will participate in one of the NHL's signature outdoor events, as Colorado hosted the Detroit Red Wings at Coors Field on Feb. 27, 2016.
The pregame festivities begin at 1 p.m. with the Truly Hard Seltzer NHL PreGame, a free fan festival that will include interactive games and attractions, live music and special appearances. The NHL and the Avalanche will honor and recognize the armed forces throughout the game, and more than 1,000 Air Force cadets will take part in the pregame and intermission festivities. Country music star Sam Hunt will headline the entertainment, performing at the first intermission.
