San Antonio Rampage

On Friday, the Rampage defeated Stockton 2-1 in a shootout in the first half of a two-game set between the clubs. Jesse Graham assisted on Alex Belzille's goal in the first period to give the Rampage the lead, but the Heat tied the game in the second stanza. After a scoreless third frame and overtime period, Grimaldi and Warsofsky scored in the best-of-three shootout and goalie Spencer Martin stopped all of Stockton's attempts for the win. The netminder made 26 saves through overtime to force the shootout.
San Antonio fell 4-3 to Stockton on Saturday to conclude the series. The Rampage found the back of the net once each period, but the team was outlasted as the Heat picked up the victory with the game-winning tally with 34 seconds remaining in regulation. Warsofsky and Andrew Agozzino both recorded helpers, and Martin made 18 saves in the contest.
The Rampage's road trip wraps up Tuesday at the San Jose Barracuda.

Andrew Hammond (Belleville Senators): Hammond was recalled by the Avalanche from the AHL's Belleville Senators on Wednesday to help provide goaltending depth while starter Semyon Varlamov is out with a lower-body injury. He backed up Jonathan Bernier in Avs' 2-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday and 7-2 victory versus the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. In 17 AHL games this season, Hammond has a 7-6-2 record, 3.44 goals-against average and .899 save percentage. He was reassigned back to Belleville following Saturday's NHL contest.

Colorado Eagles (ECHL)

The Colorado Eagles went 2-0 this weekend in a two-game series against the Tulsa Oilers. Netminder Joe Cannata made 41 saves on Saturday in a 5-4 shootout victory, which included him stopping all three shootout attempts. The Eagles extended their win streak to five games as they defeated the Oilers 3-0 on Sunday behind 51 saves from Cannata. Colorado returns home on Wednesday to begin a three-game homestand against the rival Rapid City Rush.

World Junior Championship

Avalanche prospects Cale Makar and Conor Timmins each recorded a goal and an assist in Team Canada's 8-2 victory over Switzerland in the World Junior Championship quarterfinals on Tuesday. Makar was named Canada's player of the game.
On Thursday, Makar had another multi-point outing as the defenseman recorded a pair of helpers in Canada's 6-2 win over the Czech Republic.
The duo helped Canada close out the tournament on top on Friday as they defeated Sweden 3-1 to win the gold medal. Timmins assisted on the game-winning goal by Tyler Steenbergen with 1:40 left in the third period.

Timmins finished the tournament with one goal and four assists in seven contests. The blueliner led all skaters with a plus-15 rating and ended up tied for fourth among all defensemen in points.
Makar tied for seventh overall and was first for defensemen in scoring with eight points (three goals, five assists) in seven games. He finished the tournament with a plus-5 rating, 21.43 shooting percentage and was named to the Media All-Star Team.
Both prospects were selected as two of Canada's three best players by tournament coaches.

OHL

Travis Barron (Ottawa 67's): Travis Barron recorded a marker for the Ottawa 67's on Saturday in a 3-2 victory over the Peterborough Petes. The 67's fell 4-3 in overtime to the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday. The forward has 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists) in 38 contests.
Conor Timmins (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds): Timmins was with Canada's National Junior Team this past week at the IIHF World Junior Championship. He won a gold medal with Canada after it defeated Sweden 3-1 on Friday. He finished the tournament with five points (one goal and four assists) in seven games. His OHL club, Sault. Ste. Marie went 2-1-0 in three games this last week, losing 4-3 in a shootout to Mississauga on Thursday before winning 3-2 in overtime to Oshawa on Friday and 7-3 at Guelph on Sunday. Timmins has six goals and 28 assists in 29 OHL games this season.

WHL

Josh Anderson (Swift Current Broncos): Josh Anderson recorded a helper with the Prince George Cougars on Friday as the squad defeated the Tri-City Storm 4-3. Anderson was traded by Prince George to the Swift Current Broncos on Sunday for first round draft picks in 2018 and 2019. The blueliner has yet to hit the ice with his new club. He registered seven points (one goal, six assists) in 25 games for the Cougars this season.
Nick Henry (Regina Pats): Nick Henry recorded a pair of helpers in the Regina Pats' 3-2 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday. The forward finished with a plus-2 rating and led all skaters with 12 shots on goal. Henry recorded his seventh goal of the campaign in the Pats' 4-2 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday before Regina bounced back with a 4-1 win over Prince Albert on Sunday. Henry has 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in 24 games this year.
Ty Lewis (Brandon Wheat Kings): The Brandon Wheat Kings competed in three contests this week, starting with a 3-2 loss to the Regina Pats on Wednesday. The Wheat Kings defeated Swift Current 3-2 in overtime on Friday and then outscored Saskatoon 5-3 on Sunday. Ty Lewis scored his 23rd goal of the season on Wednesday. He continues to lead Brandon in scoring with 66 points (23 goals, 43 assists) in 40 contests.

NCAA

Shane Bowers (Boston University): BU's exhibition against the U.S. National Team Development Program Under-18 squad was cancelled on Friday due to a winter storm that impacted the northeast of the country. The squad competed for the first time since the school's winter break on Saturday but lost 3-0 to Maine. Shane Bowers hit the ice in the contest and has 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) in 20 games this campaign.
Cale Makar (University of Massachusetts): While his UMass teammates were enjoying the end of their winter break, Makar was with the Canada National Junior Team at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, New York. He led all tournament D-men in scoring with eight points (three goals and five assists) and helped Canada win the gold medal with its 3-1 victory over Sweden in the championship game on Friday. Makar's Minutemen squad returned to action this past weekend but lost both of their contests. They fell 5-3 at Yale on Friday and 8-3 at UMass Lowell on Saturday. Makar has nine points (one goal and eight assists) in 16 NCAA games this season.
Cam Morrison (University of Notre Dame): Notre Dame returned to the action after the school's winter break with a home-and-home series against Michigan. The Irish defeated the Wolverines 2-1 in each contest, and Cam Morrison recorded a helper in each victory. The forward has 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 22 games this year.
Denis Smirnov (Penn State University): Penn State returned from winter break last weekend in a two-game series against Wisconsin. Penn State defeated Wisconsin 5-1 on Friday before the clubs tied 3-3 on Saturday. The Nittany Lions earned the win in conference play as it picked up the shootout victory versus the Badgers after the scoreless OT. Denis Smirnov competed in both contests but didn't add to his season scoring totals. He has 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) after 14 games.

USHL

Nate Clurman (Tri-City Storm): Nate Clurman hit the ice with the Tri-City Storm in a 5-4 overtime victory against Sioux City on Friday, but he didn't make an appearance in the Storm's 4-1 loss to Omaha on Saturday. Clurman has three assists in 23 games this campaign.

BCHL

Nick Leivermann (Penticton Vees): Nick Leivermann recorded two assists in two games this week, and he continues to lead all rookie defensemen in points in the BCHL. The blueliner's first assist came on Friday in the Penticton Vees' 2-1 victory in double overtime versus the Prince George Spruce Kings. Leivermann recorded another helper in a 5-2 win over the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday to improve to 29 points (seven goals, 22 assists) in 36 contests.

KHL

Igor Shvyrev (Mettallurg Magnitogorsk): Igor Shvyrev hit the ice with Mettallurg Magnitogorsk three times this week as the club went 2-1. Mettallurg suffered a 2-1 loss to Dinamo Minsk on Wednesday before defeating Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 4-1 on Friday and outscoring Jokerit Helsinki 2-1 in overtime on Sunday. The forward has one goal in 27 contest for this season. Shvyrev has also appeared in six games for Mettallurg's junior team this campaign and has 13 points (five goals, eight assists).

Sweden (Allsvenskan)

Gustav Olhaver (IK Oskarshamn): IK Oskarshamn defeated AIK 6-5 in overtime on Wednesday before falling 4-3 to Timra on Friday. Olhaver made an appearance in both contests and has 10 points (five goals, five assists) in 31 contests this campaign
Adam Werner (IF Bjorkloven): Adam Werner made two starts in the crease for IF Bjorkloven this week. The goaltender made 35 saves in a 3-2 overtime win against Vita Hasten on Wednesday. The club entered extra minutes again on Sunday, as Werner made 22 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss.

Czech Republic

Petr Kvaca (HC Ceske Budejovice): Petr Kvaca earned two wins in net for HC Ceske Budejovice this week. The netminder made 17 saves in a 4-1 victory over Usti nad Labem on Thursday and turned away 25 pucks on Saturday as the club defeated Karlovy Vary 2-1. Kvaca has a record of 19-6 and has registered a 1.50 goals-against average and .932 save percentage.

Slovakia

Maximilian Pajpach (Spisska Nova Ves): Maximillian Pajpach has made 19 starts in the crease for Spisska Nova Ves, earning a 3.57 goals-against average and .898 save percentage. The netminder has also made seven starts between the pipes for Michalovce where he registered a 2.73 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.
