The Avs secured their spot in the NHL's second season by forcing overtime against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday. Tyson Barrie and Carl Soderberg each scored and Philipp Grubauer made 33 saves before the overtime period. Erik Johnson netted the game-winner in the extra frame to give Colorado the 3-2 win at Pepsi Center.

The Avalanche finishes the 2018-19 regular season at the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. MT.
