Youth Open Hockey sessions are generally designed for skaters who want to skate with full gear, a stick, and a puck. Different than a Public Session where skaters can just skate, skaters during Open Hockey sessions can work on their individual skating or stick-handling skills or play small hockey games with their friends.
There are two types of YOH sessions offered at DPSC Rinks:
Full equipment must be worn at all times, including an approved helmet with facemask. No half-shields are allowed. No coaches or private lessons are allowed on the ice during YOH sessions. The maximum number of players allowed on the ice is twenty-four skaters and four goaltenders.
If you are a player, you may call the rink on the day of scheduled Youth Open Hockey session to reserve a spot any time after 9:00 a.m. In order for your reservation to be honored, you must pay for the slot at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time, or it will be released. You are welcome to pay over the phone at the time that you make your reservation.
