Stars end lengthy scoring drought in loss to Rangers

Two third-period goals aren't enough to stop Dallas' slide as its winless stretch reaches a season-worst six games

by Jeff Odom @jeffodom / DallasStars.com

DALLAS -- Roope Hintz finally broke the Stars' lengthy scoring drought on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to squash their winless skid against the Rangers.

By the time the winger finally came through with a power-play goal one minute, 23 seconds into the third period, it was nothing more than a small dent in a four-goal deficit as New York kept Dallas sliding in a 4-2 loss at American Airlines Center.

Stars can't find answer on offense in loss to Predators

Dallas can't climb back from a two-goal deficit as Nashville scores twice on the power play for a shutout victory

by Jeff Odom @jeffodom / DallasStars.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- When the Stars and Predators last met before Thursday on the national stage in January's Winter Classic, it was Dallas that turned an early two-goal deficit into easily one of the biggest victories the franchise has ever seen.

Unfortunately for the Stars, that storyline did not repeat itself here at Bridgestone Arena. The Predators instead took advantage of some early Dallas penalty trouble and goaltender Juuse Saros did the rest en route to a 2-0 shutout win.

by Jeff Odom @jeffodom / DallasStars.com

DALLAS -- Anton Khudobin has been very good for the Stars this season.

That's not anything newsworthy to the common fan, of course. But taking into consideration just how solid Dallas' backup netminder has been inside the friendly confines of American Airlines Center, it's still fairly attention grabbing.
