The Dallas Stars are proud to announce the inaugural season of the Dallas Stars Learn to Play Hockey Program. By partnering with the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), the goal of the Dallas Stars Learn to Play Program is to increase participation in ice hockey and create the next generation of fans.

The Dallas Stars Learn to Play Program provides children between the ages of 4-8 the opportunity to experience the sport of hockey in a fun and safe way. The program will consist of six (6) hour long on-ice training sessions over the course of six (6) consecutive weeks. Children will receive their own complete set of CCM hockey equipment to keep as they progress into a next-step hockey program.

Equipment kit includes:

  • Dallas Stars Learn to Play jersey
  • Shoulder pads
  • Gloves
  • Elbow pads
  • Helmet
  • Shin guards
  • Pants
  • Hockey skates
  • Hockey socks
  • Hockey stick
  • Equipment bag 

Program Details & Registration Parameters:

  • To be eligible for the Dallas Stars Learn to Play Program, children registering must be between the ages of 4-8
  • The Dallas Stars Learn to Play Program is intended for children who have not participated in an organized hockey program before. Children with their own hockey equipment and/or those who play/have played organized hockey in the past are ineligible. 

ANY PLAYER WHO IS FOUND TO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROGRAM IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT REFUND.

Program Information

  • The Dallas Stars Learn to Play Program will operate out of fourteen rinks across the Fox Sports Southwest Television region, in such states as Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas, as well as areas of Texas including Houston, El Paso, McAllen and more.
