Hi Sharks365 Members,
As of July 1, we re-opened all four of our facilities, including SAP Center and Sharks Ice in San José, Fremont, and Oakland. We've been hosting events without restrictions on attendance or food & beverage. Effective September 20, 2021, all guests ages 12 and older who visit SAP Center, or any Sharks Ice facility, will be required to show proof of vaccination upon entry. To provide guests with a seamless and convenient way to show proof of full vaccination, Sharks Sports & Entertainment has partnered with CLEAR and its Health Pass technology, where you can create a free CLEAR account and expedite your entry into SAP Center at San Jose and all Sharks Ice facilities.
While you were away from SAP Center, we were busy investing millions of dollars to improve it. We've replaced the South Entrance escalators, implemented a new building management system, and replaced the entire rink floor and refrigeration system. The new Barracuda arena is progressing well and is slated to open in Fall 2022. If you're interested in becoming a Founding Member of the new arena, please reach out to your Account Executive or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about becoming a part of this historic Barracuda season.
We've also been investing in delivering experiences in a digital-first manner. We've transitioned to fully digital ticketing for all events at SAP Center; member cards will still be available for Sharks365 members to enter the building. For the first time ever, we hosted an online Select-A-Seat and we expanded our Ice Insights to give more of you access to hear first from your favorite players and Sharks personalities while at home AND on the road. In addition, you can now view and purchase Zoom Suites for individual events digitally. We've installed two reverse ATMs at SAP Center which allow guests to convert cash into Sharks branded debit cards that can be used anywhere major credit cards are accepted. Over the summer, we became the first NHL team to accept cryptocurrency for season tickets, suite leases, and payments for partnerships.
For this upcoming season, we've extended the Sharks365 Ticket Exchange program for both Teal and Silver members. Teal members have unlimited exchanges (subject to blackout dates) while Silver members have access to exchange games for the first time. We've made a significant investment in mobile payments to help reduce concession lines and become more contactless. Through the Sharks+SAP Center app, you can order ahead of time and skip the line for pickups. Food and beverage discounts are available in the mobile wallet for Sharks365 members.
We've also reimagined your game day experience. For those of you who love the playoff lightshow, I would encourage you to be in the building for opening night on Saturday, October 16 against Winnipeg. We have a surprise in store for you. Over the last few years, we've focused on broadening the food & beverage menu with a focus on local options. This year, some core offerings are being refreshed: John Dough, a customizable pizza concept that invites each fan to make their own pizza and give each John Dough a name. Top Taco is an over-the-top taco and nacho area. For our fans looking for healthier options, visit Nourish, where you can build your own salads and baked potatoes. Looking to grab a quick beverage? Visit the DrinkMKT for a grab-and-go beverage station complete with self-checkout. We've also partnered with Bay Area favorite, Blue Line Pizza, to serve their famous deep-dish pizza.
We've also transitioned to Aramark as our merchandise partner, not just at SAP Center but also all three Sharks Ice locations. This will give us more consistency in our offerings, expand access to authentics, and be more inclusive to all fans with more variety. If you can't get to one of our locations, check out our recently launched Sharks Pro Shop site which includes game-used merchandise.
Last, but certainly not least, we're excited for the latest edition of Sharks and Barracuda hockey. There are a host of new faces on Team Teal, including James Reimer, Aidan Hill, Nick Boninio, Andrew Cognliano, and Nicholas Merkley.
I look forward to seeing you at the Tank for what should be a fun season of Sharks and Barracuda hockey.
