Prospect Update: Andersson Scores Twice Against Team USA

Rangers prospect Lias Andersson scored both goals for Sweden on Wednesday against Team USA in the World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth, Mich.

The seventh overall pick in June's NHL Entry Draft, Andersson opened the scoring in the first period with a wrist shot from the top of the circle, and added his second of the game on a power play goal in the middle frame. Team USA, though, topped Sweden, 3-2.

Fellow Rangers prospect Tim Gettinger finished the game with two shots on goal.

The event resumes Friday when Andersson and Sweden taken on Canada at 1 pm, followed by Team USA - which includes prospect Sean Day - battling Finland at 4 pm.
