Travis Green signed a multiyear contract through the 2030-31 season with the Ottawa Senators on Monday.

The 55-year-old was hired as Senators coach on May 7, 2024, and has guided them to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of his first two seasons.

Ottawa has won six of its first nine games (6-3-0) this season despite trading former captain Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers on June 21. The Senators host the Panthers on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET; Prime, SCRIPPS).

"When I was in the search to identify our head coach two years ago, it was clear to me that Travis had the qualities to move our team forward," Ottawa general manager Steve Staois said. "I have watched him implement systems and structures that have reinforced my belief in his coaching abilities."

"We share the same vision and philosophy and are confident we can continue to build on our team."

Several members of Green's staff, including assistants Nolan Baumgartner, Ben Sexton, Mike Yeo and goaltending coach Justin Peters, also signed new contracts Monday.
