With the 223rd and 224th overall picks in the seventh round of the 2022 NHL Draft, the Tampa Bay Lightning selected defenseman Dyllan Gill from the QMJHL's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, along with Klavs Veinbergs from Latvia's Zemgale.

Gill is 18 years old and played in 66 games with the Huskies last season, scoring six goals and adding 15 assists for 21 points. The right-handed defenseman also recorded one assist in three playoff games.
Veinbergs is 19 years old and skated in 47 MHL games last season before joining Zemgale in his home country of Latvia. He went on to record seven points in nine playoff games en route to a league championship. A big body at 6-foot-3 and 198 pounds, Veinbergs is a left-handed shot and appeared in three games with Latvia at the 2022 IIHF Men's World Championship.
