Military Surprise at Pepsi Center

Sarah Villegas was honored as a King Soopers military spouse of the Colorado Avalanche's game against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, but little did she know she was in for a big surprise.
After the Pepsi Center crowd gave Sarah a round of applause for her five years of service as a military spouse, she and her son Sebastian were directed to look up the aisle of her section to see her husband, Sergeant Taylor Villegas, had returned to American soil.

Sergeant Villegas was due to return from a deployment in Afghanistan in February but surprised his family will his early return home. He has been in the military for almost 10 years and was also deployed to the Middle East in 2013 and spent two years serving overseas at Camp Humphrey's in South Korea.
Sergeant Villegas joined the military when he was only 17 years old and has been stationed at Fort Gordon, Camp Humphreys and is currently stationed at Fort Carson.
Throughout his military tenure, he has received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Army Good Conduct Medal.
Born and raised in Colorado, Sergeant Villegas and his wife Sarah are big Avalanche fans and spent their first anniversary at an Avs game.
