The Nashville Predators will skate in the new Rogers Place for the first time when they face the Edmonton Oilers tonight (at 8 p.m. CT).
The Preds (21-17-7) sprinted out to a 4-0 lead yesterday and then staved off a late advance by the Flames to preserve a 4-3 victory. Goaltender Juuse Saros made 32 saves in the win and Pekka Rinne is likely to get the start tonight. The Oilers (25-15-7) are third in the Pacific Division and the owners of a four-game winning streak. Their last victory came on Jan. 18, a 4-3 overtime triumph over the Panthers.
The Preds did not hold a morning skate on Friday. Defensemen Roman Josi and Petter Granberg are both on Injured Reserve and will be out of the lineup tonight. Colin Wilson and P.K. Subban are also on Injured Reserve, but skated with the team during their optional morning skate on Thursday in Calgary.
Update: Subban has been
activated from Injured Reserve and is expected
to be in the Predators lineup tonight.
