Dach has seven points (five goals, two assists) in 15 games this season but has played 132 games since the start of 2022-23 because of injury. Joshua Roy was recalled from Laval of the American Hockey League and will join the Canadiens for their game at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET; FDSNOH, Prime, RDS)

New York Rangers

Coach Mike Sullivan missed the game against the Detroit Red Wings at Madison Square Garden because of personal reasons. Assistants David Quinn and Joe Sacco split the head coaching responsibilities.

Calgary Flames

Samuel Honzek is week to week with an upper-body injury. The rookie forward left a 4-3 shootout loss to the Winnipeg Jets in Calgary on Saturday in the second period after colliding with teammate Mikael Backlund in the defensive zone shortly before Jets forward Mark Scheifele scored at 7:19. Honzek, the Flames' first-round pick (No. 16) in the 2023 NHL Draft, has four points (two goals, two assists) in 18 games.

Chicago Blackhawks

Nick Foligno could be out four weeks after injuring his left hand in a 3-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at United Center on Saturday. The Blackhawks captain blocked a shot by Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe at 18:29 of the second period and immediately went to the locker room. "It's unfortunate. He's a tough, tough customer, so when he came off like that I knew he was in trouble," Blackhawks coach Jeff Blashill said. "It'll be a loss, but that's this league. Everybody in the League's got guys who are down, and you have to find ways to take the guys you have and find a way to win." Foligno has six assists in 15 games this season.

New York Islanders

Max Shabanov returned against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday after missing 12 games with an upper-body injury. Islanders coach Patrick Roy said the forward was initially injured during a 5-4 win at the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 16 and played three days later, when New York defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-3 at UBS Arena. Shabanov is projected to skate on the fourth line with Casey Cizikas and Calum Ritchie. He has a goal and two assists in six games after signing a one-year contract with the Islanders on July 2. ... Defenseman Scott Mayfield returned to the lineup after missing two games for the birth of his son.

Dallas Stars

Thomas Harley is week to week because of a lower-body injury. The defenseman, who has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in 18 games, missed a 5-1 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday after he had an assist in 21:25 of ice time in a 7-0 win at the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. "He was dealing with it. He played three or four games with it," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. "It becomes a point right now where you don't want to make the injury worse. It's the smartest decision for the athlete just to take that time now and get it dealt with." ... Jamie Benn could make his season debut for the Stars next week. The captain has not played this season because of a punctured lung but has been skating. "He's had a couple of good skates," Gulutzan said prior to their win against the Canadiens. "Yesterday was a really hard skate for him and he got through it. All signs seem to be he is heading in the right direction."

Toronto Maple Leafs

Auston Matthews was placed on injured reserve Friday, retroactive to Nov. 11, because of a lower-body injury and could miss a week. The center was injured in a 5-3 loss at the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, but coach Craig Berube said the injury did not occur when Matthews was hit by Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov along the boards at 8:30 of the second period, even though he exited the game 30 seconds later.
