Forward Matt Hendricks agreed to terms on a one-year, $700,000 contract with the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

Hendricks, 36, was an unrestricted free agent. He had seven points (four goals, three assists) in 42 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season. He led the Oilers with a .569 faceoff percentage (132 of 232) and was among the top 25 NHL forwards in shorthanded time on ice over the past five seasons.

Hendricks has 100 points (49 goals, 51 assists) and 664 penalty minutes in 521 NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators and Edmonton.
He was selected by Nashville in the fifth round (No. 131) of the 2000 NHL Draft.
