Tonight marks the first of back-to-back games for the Jets, who host the Detroit Red Wings Friday night at Bell MTS Place.
It's the sixth set of back-to-backs the Jets have faced this season. In the front half of those situations, Winnipeg is 4-1-0.
"We have to worry about ourselves first. We have to prepare better than we did the last time we played these guys. We weren't ready to play mentally or physically, Copp said.
"We have to find a way to get ourselves up for this game. It's a really important one. Another Central Division game, but after being 0-2 against these guys to start the year, we feel like this has to be a game we find way to win."
