Clancey brings Cup to Newfoundland

The Stanley Cup was on the shores of the North Atlantic on Wednesday.
Derek Clancey, the Pittsburgh Penguins director of professional scouting, celebrated his day with the Cup in the Quidi Vidi village of St. John's, Newfoundland.

Clancey, who is from St. John's, then brought the Cup to scenic Pippy Park Golf Club, where he and the trophy had a bird's eye view of both the city and ocean.

Clancey had a lengthy playing and coaching career, mostly in the ECHL, before joining the Penguins as a scout in 2007. He has been their director of pro scouting since 2010.
Clancey was inducted to the Newfoundland Hockey Hall of Fame on June 10 before watching the Penguins win their third championship during his tenure with the team a day later when Pittsburgh defeated the Nashville Predators 2-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.
