EDMONTON --Gabriel Landeskog had a goal and an assist in his return from a three-game suspension, and the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 at Rexall Place on Sunday.
The Avalanche (38-31-4) lead the Minnesota Wild by one point for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. The Wild defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in a shootout Sunday to briefly take over the West's final playoff position.
Tyson Barrie and Blake Comeau scored for Colorado in its third consecutive win to end a four-game road trip.
