Crosby scores twice in a 7-1 win over the Sabres

PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby scored twice and had an assist for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 7-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena on Friday.

Bryan Rust also scored twice, Jake Guentzel had a goal and two assists and Evgeni Malkin had three assists for the Penguins, who finished the preseason 3-3-0. Tristan Jarry made 22 saves.
Vinnie Hinostroza scored for the Sabres in their preseason finale (4-2-0). Eric Comrie made 20 saves.
Guentzel gave Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead at 7:04 of the first period after Crosby stole the puck behind the net.
Crosby redirected a feed from Guentzel at 9:40 to make it 2-0.
Rust extended the Penguins lead to 3-0 when he tipped a pass from Ty Smith at 13:49.
Hinostroza cut it to 3-1 with a short-handed goal at 5:13 of the second period.
Crosby restored the three-goal lead with a power-play goal at 10:11 to make it 4-1, and Smith gave the Penguins a 5-1 lead at 11:14.
Danton Heinen made it 6-1 at 5:30 of the third period, and Rust scored with 32 seconds left for the 7-1 final.
