With their second pick in the Sixth Round (186th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft, the Tampa Bay Lightning grabbed a goalie, selecting Amir Miftakhov from Kazan, Russia.
Miftakhov was the No. 5 rated European goaltender by NHL Central Scouting entering the Draft. Miftakhov posted a 2.19 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and two shutouts this past season for Bars Kazan (Russia-2). He also won a silver medal with Russia at the 2020 World Junior Championships after notching a 2.12 GAA and .919 save percentage. Miftakhov is 6-foot-1, 165 pounds and is a left-handed catching goalie.
