Young Professionals Board

The Sharks Foundation's Young Professionals Board (YPB) is made up of individuals between 19 and 26 years old with less than four years of professional experience who are passionate about being active and philanthropic members of their community. Joining the board will give you an opportunity to network, to build leadership skills, and make a positive impact on the San Jose community!

Mission Statement:
The Young Professionals Board is dedicated to supporting the Sharks Foundation's efforts to empower youth through education and wellness programs while advancing equitable access to hockey for all through engagement in Sharks Foundation activities, programs and events.

Board Member Requirements:

  • Minimum $50 annual donation to the Sharks Foundation
  • Attend 90% of monthly board in-person meetings (SAP Center or Sharks Ice San Jose)
  • Dedicate minimum of 5 hours of service per month (includes staffing the Sharks Foundation Booth at Sharks home games)
  • Join a YPB committee (Fundraising, Service, Networking)
  • Participate in a board service event
  • Participate in a board fundraising event
  • Provide support for Sharks Foundation fundraising events

Terms & How to Apply:

The interview and selection process will be completed by the end of August. Each YPB member's term runs from September through June. There is an automatic two-term commitment when being accepted to the board with the option to transition to an alumni or ambassador role beyond the two terms.
