The Sharks Foundation's Young Professionals Board (YPB) is made up of professionals under 35 years old or with less than 5 years of professional work experience who are passionate about being active and philanthropic members of their community. Participation in YPB will allow its members to gain hands-on experience and serve the community through working side by side with the Sharks Foundation staff to support the charitable arm of the San Jose Sharks. If you are looking for a way to give back to your community while showing your love for the Sharks we invite you to read further!
The Sharks Foundation's Young Professionals Board is dedicated to supporting the Sharks Foundation's efforts to enhance the lives of youth and families in Santa Clara County through promotion of established Signature events, creation of new fundraising opportunities and engagement in Sharks Foundation activities.
The Sharks Foundation promotes full and equal participation for a YPB inclusive of professionals of varying gender, national origin, racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientation and gender identity, and with disabilities. We recognize that our strength and success is due, in large part, to the diversity that our leadership brings, and we are committed to continuing to increase our diversity of our membership and to assuring that the YPB reflects the community it serves.
The Sharks Foundation is looking for fun, dedicated and passionate individuals who wish to execute the Sharks Foundation's mission to serve the community. YPB members are asked to make a commitment to the Sharks Foundation by dedicating 5-7 hours per month, which includes attending YPB board meetings, creating a fundraising event and assist with fundraiser preparation and execution. YPB members are expected to take a proactive approach to being on the board and conduct themselves in a professional manner especially when representing the Sharks organization.
