The Sharks Foundation's Young Professionals Board (YPB) is made up of individuals (21 years or age or older) with less than four years of professional experience who are passionate about being active and philanthropic members of their community. Participation in the YPB allows its members to gain hands-on experience working side by side with the Sharks Foundation. The Young Professionals Board is dedicated to supporting the Sharks Foundation's efforts to enhance the lives of youth and families in the community through engagement in Sharks Foundation activities, programs and events.
Members must attend 100% of board meetings which take place the first/second Thursday of every month (dependent on hockey schedule). Members are expected to execute the "Five-Hole Goal" tasks which include:
Additionally each member is expected to commit a minimum of 5 hours of service per month by contributing to the following activities: working the Foundation Booth in-game auctions on game nights, selling Mystery Pucks on select game nights, assisting with our Street Rally beer booths, auction item solicitation for Foundation signature events, community appearances, assisting with fund-giving events such as Holiday Assist. As a member you will receive access to networking and volunteer opportunities, some SAP Center and Sharks ticket offers, and more! Most importantly, members are expected to take a proactive approach to being on the board and conduct themselves in a professional manner when representing the Sharks organization.

Each YPB member's term runs from September through May/June, depending on when the hockey season officially ends. There is an automatic two term commitment when being accepted to the board with the option to transition to an alumni or ambassador role beyond the two terms.
The application cycle opens each July - new members are accepted and notified by end of August. The 2018-19 season application is closed. Please check back July 2019 for information on the 2019-20 board.
