CLEVELAND MONSTERS

The AHL affiliate of the Blue Jackets is 12-4-2 in its last 18 games after sweeping its way through Pennsylvania this weekend, downing Lehigh Valley by a 5-2 score Saturday and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by a 4-3 final in overtime Sunday.

Cleveland scored the last four goals to pull away from the Phantoms, with Mikael Pyyhtiä and Justin Pearson notching a goal and an assist, Will Butcher, Hunter McKown and Brendan Gaunce scoring, and Ivan Fedotov stopping 33 shots. Gaunce had the OT winner to cap a three-point night while Luca Del Bel Belluz had a two-assist contest against the Penguins.

The Monsters are now 25-15-6-1, good for third in the AHL North. AHL All-Star Del Bel Belluz has a 3-12-15 line in the last 10 games, while Owen Sillinger has eight goals in the last 12 contests, Pyyhtiä has 5-8-13 in the last 12 and captain Gaunce has 4-4-8 in seven games since returning from Columbus.

Cleveland is at Grand Rapids on Wednesday night before returning home to host Toronto on Friday and Saturday.
