2. HITTING THE SKIDS
While the Flyers are trending up with a streak, the Canadiens are trending downwards with a streak... The Habs have dropped five straight games, going 0-4-1, and have outright lost three in a row having been outscored, 13-5... They have also gone a month without a win on the road, posting six consecutive road losses, dating back to Jan. 19... Montreal has scored most of their goals on the power play lately, recording goals on the man advantage in five of their last seven games and eight of their last 19 goals (42.1%) coming on the power play in that stretch.
3. FLYERS, HABS & FLYERS vs. HABS
This is the second of three meetings against the Canadiens, all of which will take place in a 19-day span this month... The Flyers earned a 5-3 over the Habs in the first meeting on Feb. 8 and have now won 10 of their last 11 meetings, and earned points in all 11, going 10-0-1 dating back to November of 2010... Jakub Voracek averages a point per-game against the Canadiens with 23 points (5g-18a), while Shayne Gostisbehere averages over a point per-game against the Habs with nine points (2g-7a) in just six career games... While Carey Price has 15 of the Habs 22 wins this year compared just two from Antti Niemi, however Niemi has a 5-1-0 career mark against the Flyers with a 1.40 GAA and .952 save percentage.
4. MRAZEK, LINDBLOM SKATE BUT...
Fans will have to wait to get a good look at Mrazek as Alex Lyon has been named tonight's starter... Mrazek was acquired from the Red Wings last night and joins the team with a 8-7-3 record, 2.89 GAA & .910 sv pct... Fans will get to see recently recalled forward Oskar Lindblom, who will make his NHL debut tonight coming from the Phantoms, where he has 16 goals and 34 points with Lehigh Valley... He will be the seventh Flyers to make his NHL debut this season (Goulbourne, Lyon, Martel, O'Neill, Patrick & Sanheim).
5. PLAYERS TO WATCH:
FLYERS (RW: #11 - Travis Konecny)
Tonight's game goes back to Konecny, who is on a four-game point streak where he has seven points (2g-5a) and a +5 rating... Since the New Year began, Konecny is tied for the team lead in goals (11), while leading all NHL players in game-winning goals (6)... Konecny also posted a pair of goals in the first meeting against the Canadiens on Feb. 8, including the game-winner.
CANADIENS (LW: #27 - Alex Galchenyuk)
Galchenyuk has points in two straight games and five of his last seven (6a) and is the team leader on the power play with seven PPG and 17 points on the man advantage... Galchenyuk averages a point per-game against the Flyers with 15 points (5g-10a) in 15 games, and has recorded a point in every game he has played at the Wells Fargo Center, recording seven points (3g-4a) in that stretch.
