The MSE Foundation auction featured autographed green jerseys, player-used sticks wrapped in green tape and pucks with green Capitals logos on them. During warmups, the players wore St. Patrick's Day themed Capitals jerseys which were then signed and auctioned off.
Ten jerseys sold for more than $1,000, with the Braden Holtby and Alex Ovechkin jerseys receiving the highest bids at $1,500. The framed, autographed team puck set sold for $2,550.
Created in 2013, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation supports the charitable efforts of all the professional teams under its umbrella: the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Valor and Wizards and the Baltimore Brigade. The organization's ultimate vision is to restore the Anacostia to a fishable and swimmable river for the health and enjoyment of all community members. The Anacostia Watershed Society was founded in 1989 by a small group of concerned individuals who decided that the environmental needs of the Anacostia River and its watershed communities required serious attention. Over the past 20 years, its staff and programming efforts have expanded significantly to encompass efforts in environmental education, stewardship, and recreation, as well as engaging the community through public affairs.
