LAST 5 vs NEW JERSEY
JOHNNY'S BACK
The Canucks will debut their 2022 Reverse Retro jersey this evening against the New Jersey Devils, marking the first of eight appearances for the jersey this season (seven home games, one road game). The Canucks' 2022 Reverse Retro jersey pays tribute to the team's namesake and brings back the legendary 1962 Johnny Canuck as the primary logo. Before entering the NHL in 1970, the Vancouver Canucks debuted in the former Western Hockey League in 1945 with Johnny C as their logo, proudly displaying the beloved figure on their jerseys. The jerseys are available for preorder now at Vanbase.ca.
WELCOMING THE NEW GUYS
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin made trades on consecutive days last week, acquiring forward Jack Studnicka from the Boston Bruins on Oct. 27 and defenceman Ethan Bear, alongside forward Lane Pederson, on Oct. 28. Studnicka and Bear are each expected to make their Canucks debuts on Tuesday vs New Jersey, with Bear also making his season debut.
BO KNOWS GOALS
Netting two power play goals on Oct. 28 vs PIT, including the game-winner, Bo Horvatnow has 58 career power play goals and 22 game-winning tallies, ranking 11th and 12th respectively, among all skaters in franchise history. He now sits just three back of the top- 10 in both categories, coincidentally trailing Ryan Kesler (61 PPG, 25 GWG) for each.
MARTIN'S MAGICAL RUN
Turning aside 34 shots in a 5-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct. 28, Spencer Martin improved his record with the Canucks to 4-0-4, tying Curt Ridley (6-0-2 in 1975.76) as the only other goaltender in franchise history to earn at least a point in each of his eight starts with the team.
BOUDREAU REACHES 600 WINS
Thanks to Vancouver's 5-3 win on Oct. 27 at SEA, Canucks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau became the 22nd coach in NHL history and just the fifth active head coach to reach 600 regular season wins with a record of 600-322-127. Among coaches with 600 wins to their name, Boudreau's 1,049 games coached were the second-fewest required to reach the mark, while his .633 points percentage ranks second only to Scotty Bowman (.657).
ELIAS PETTER-CENT
Netting his third goal of the season on Oct. 18 at CBJ, Elias Pettersson registered his 100th career NHL goal, requiring the second- fewest games in Canucks history to reach the mark among players to debut with the franchise, trailing only Pavel Bure (154 GP).
HOMEGROWN TALENT
Making his 137th NHL regular season appearance on Oct. 12 at EDM, Thatcher Demko gained sole possession of most games played in franchise history by a Canucks-drafted goaltender, surpassing Glen Hanlon's mark of 136 games. Following Vancouver's 5-4 win at Seattle on Oct. 27, Demko now stands just four wins away from tying Gary Smith for sixth-most wins among all goalies in team history.
