Gagner

Who is Sam Gagner?
In short, Sam William Gagner is a forward with 696 NHL games played between four teams; the centreman has 142 goals and 402 career points. He was drafted sixth overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2007, stands 5-foot-11, and weighs 200 pounds.

Okay, you read his HockeyDB page, way to go.
But really, who is Sam Gagner?
I thought about calling Sam to discuss his excitement about coming to Vancouver and what he'll add to the team, but he and his wife, Dr. Rachel Linke, have a toddler and a baby on the way, so they've got their hands full.
Thank goodness for social media.
When GM Jim Benning reveals a signing at Canucks Headquarters, most are quick to check out the player's stats, whereas I hit their social media. I rejoiced when I heard Gagner was on his way. He gets how to effectively use social media and therefore everything you want to know about the new Canucks forward can be found with a deep creep.
Here we go.
Meet the Gagners.
Instagram from @sgagner89: More information
This was posted July 1st, the same day Sam signed with Vancouver, yet a custom onesie is already ready for baby Gagner and Cooper is rocking Canucks swag with pride. That's some Gagner wizardry.
Cooper has begun practicing for the upcoming season.

Gagner…Gagner…Gagner…that name sounds so familiar, right? Well, does Sam's dad look familiar? That's Dave Gagner, who played for the Canucks in 1998-99, arriving in Vancouver with Ed Jovanovski, Mike Brown and Kevin Weekes from Florida, in exchange for Pavel Bure, Bret Hedican and Brad Ference. Gagner retired following that season after 15 years in the NHL, but he didn't stay away for long, returning to the Canucks as Director of Player Development in 2008. He spent five seasons in Vancouver the second time around.

Back to Sam.
The rest of his @sgagner89 Instagram feed is mainly friends, family and workouts and that's just dandy, seeing as he started feeding the Gram exactly a year ago to the day on July 18, 2016. He's new. We'll see if we can get a must Instagram more clause added to his contract.
Twitter, on the other hand, is Gagner's go-to. @89SGagner signed up and sent his first tweet November 12, 2012, thanks to some ribbing from John Tavares and Taylor Hall, naturally.
Gagner has sent 816 tweets since joining, many supporting great initiatives and helping spread messages of worthy causes.
His best tweet, and this may be a pinch biased, is as follows:

His bromance with Michael Del Zotto, who also signed with Vancouver July 1st, began with a tweet shortly after:

He's a Tom Brady fan:

He witnessed the Chicago Cubs bring it home after a 108-year drought:

Although he's actually a Blue Jays fan:

His #Fav7HipSongs are as follows:

He can Halloween better than most:

No wonder he dressed as Walter White:

He's tough:

He loves Lake Muskoka - safe to say it's his happy place:

He knows Steph Curry?

And he's always been a master selfie taker:

Now you know Sam Gagner, the father, son, husband, teammate and friend, who supports the Blue Jays, loves Muskoka, Tom Brady, Breaking Bad, The Tragically Hip and life as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.
