Stecher snipes to tie it vs. Islanders (03/09/17)

With the clock ticking down on a matchup between the Canucks and Islanders at Rogers Arena, the trailing home team needed a hero to step up and deliver in the clutch. That hero came in the form of Troy Stecher. After Ryan Miller made his way to the bench for the extra attacker, the Canucks went to work in the offensive zone. The puck came to Stecher at the blueline, as he faked out John Tavares before walking in and placing a perfect shot upstairs to knot the game 3-3. Stecher's patience and precision shooting forced overtime and helped the Canucks grab a single point. The rookie blueliner was fantastic in the month of March, racking up six points to emerge as the team's top defensive scorer.

Best Assist

Skille dangles and dishes to Sutter vs. Blackhawks (03/21/17)

The Canucks have won two of three matchups with the Blackhawks this season - thanks in part to plays like this. With the Canucks leading the Blackhawks in the third period of a game at the United Center, former Blackhawk Jack Skille came flying down the left wing on a 2-on-1 with Brandon Sutter. Skille made a great drag move around a sprawling Brian Campbell and centered to Sutter, who made no mistake putting the puck past Corey Crawford. While Chicago eventually rallied to force overtime, Skille demonstrated his hockey intelligence on the play, as he sold everyone on the shot before setting up Sutter with a perfect pass. After setting up a goal in Chicago, Skille followed up with a snipe against the Wild before suffering an ankle injury and leaving the game.

Miller robs Pens' Sheary with the glove (03/11/17)

The Canucks fell 3-0 to the Penguins in a game in the middle of March, but goaltender Ryan Miller certainly wasn't to blame. Vancouver was outshot 48-27 on the night, with Miller making some ridiculous stops. One of his best saves came in the second period off Pittsburgh forward Conor Sheary. After Evgeni Malkin sent a pass down low, defenseman Justin Schultz wired a one-timer on Miller. The netminder fought the shot off with his pad, but the rebound came out the other side to a wide-open Sheary. Miller demonstrated his athletic ability as he reached back with the glove to rob Sheary at the goal line. Miller continues to showcase his durability and talent, as the loss against Pittsburgh was one of four games in March in which the veteran made 40-plus saves.

Best Fight

Tryamkin answers after dumping Stars' Benn (03/16/17)

Trailing 2-1, the Canucks were looking for a spark in a game against the Stars at Rogers Arena. Enter Nikita Tryamkin. The 6'7" Russian blueliner made his presence felt by knocking down Jamie Benn near the boards. Benn took exception to the hit, retaliating with a slash to the hands of the Vancouver rearguard. The two players quickly dropped the gloves and engaged in a round of fisticuffs. While it wasn't a huge scrap, Tryamkin landed a solid right early and energized the home crowd as he adjusted his visor mid-fight. The youngster also picked up an assist on the night, creeping in from the point for an in-tight opportunity on Kari Lehtonen. Tryamkin was turned away, but Sven Baertschi buried the rebound. The big d-man has been a punishing force this season, leading all Canucks blueliners with 131 hits.

Best Milestone

Boeser follows up on rebound for goal in NHL debut vs. Wild (03/25/17)

It had been a wild 24 hours for 20-year-old forward Brock Boeser. The young winger made his NHL debut against the Wild just a day after finishing the NCAA Championship with the University of North Dakota and signing a contract with the Canucks. Boeser was pranked before the game, as he thought he was leading the team onto the ice for warmups, but was actually left out for a lap by himself. It didn't take long for the rookie to make his presence felt. With the Canucks leading 2-0 in the second period, Boeser followed up on a Bo Horvat rush and jammed a rebound past Darcy Kuemper for his first NHL tally. It proved to be the eventual game-winner, as the Minnesota native had his parents in the crowd to witness the exciting milestone.
