Bowman coached an NHL-record 2,499 regular-season and playoff games and captured the Jack Adams Award as the league's best coach twice (1977, 1996). He also spent time as Head Coach of the St. Louis Blues (1967-71) and the Buffalo Sabres (1979-87), guiding his squads to the postseason in 29 of his 30 years. Bowman and his wife, Suella, have five children, including son Stan, who currently serves as Blackhawks Senior Vice President/General Manager.
