OneIL-16x9-final

The Chicago Blackhawks today announced a partnership with the One Illinois Summer Running Challenge, which kicks off on Monday, June 15, and runs through Monday, September 7 (Labor Day). The Chicago Blackhawks Foundation (CBF) has been named OneIL's exclusive charity partner.

Starting today, fans across the state can begin registering for this challenge to focus on their health & wellbeing while also working together as One Community for the greater good of Illinois throughout the summer months.

CBF's mission to create a healthier, smarter, more secure world for all children and families has never been more relevant to both the urgent and long-term needs of our local community. A portion of each runner's $65 challenge fee will benefit CBF, and all donations contributed through OneIL will be given directly to relief and recovery efforts across Illinois as a result of the COVID-19 health and economic crisis as well as neighborhood rebuilding initiatives focused on supporting Chicago's marginalized communities.

Additionally, participants will also be supporting small businesses with 10 percent of the challenge fee to be donated to local running stores impacted by the effects of COVID-19 on the running event industry.

The OneIL Summer Running Challenge is for everyone, from novice or competitive runners to walkers of all ages to community members who want to give back to the Illinois community. Participants can sign up as an individual or create a team with their company, club or family and friends. Teams of 10 or more will receive a discount on registration.

Upon registration, participants will receive instructions to log miles through OneIL, whether challenging yourself to a personal goal or competing against your friends and other runners from around Illinois for a spot on the leaderboard. All participants will receive a commemorative hoodie - and once the challenge is complete, any participant who reaches one of OneIL's distance milestones (ranging from 50K to 1500K) will also receive a patch specific to the highest milestone achieved.
