The 2026 NHL Draft gets underway in one hour.

The Blackhawks enter draft weekend with six selections, including two picks in the second round, one in each of the third and fourth rounds, and two in the seventh round.

Chicago was active leading into the draft, highlighted by a deal with Buffalo that brought in defenseman Bowen Byram and forward Jordan Greenway from Buffalo earlier this week. The move adds a pair of established NHL players as the club continues shaping its roster and future.

The 2026 NHL Draft is officially underway.

Without a first-round selection, the club remained active, acquiring a sixth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft earlier today from Ottawa in exchange for forward Andre Burakovsky.

With draft weekend now in motion, we’re up and running from the Blackhawks draft room.

Draft Transactions

• Chicago acquired defenseman Bowen Byram and forward Jordan Greenway from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenseman Louis Crevier, a first-round pick (4th overall) and a second-round pick (45th overall) in the 2026 NHL Draft.
• Chicago acquired a sixth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Andre Burakovsky.
