Grant Applications

Each year Chicago Blackhawks Foundation (CBF) uses the funds raised throughout the season to give grants to local nonprofit organizations. These organizations, focused on education and health/wellness, provide programs that serve people in the community in and around Chicago. CBF also grants through the Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation, and The Robert. R. McCormick Foundation matched 50 cents for every dollar given.

Application Process

Starting January 2, 2019, the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation will begin accepting letters of inquiry from interested nonprofit organizations in the Chicagoland area. Upon review, Chicago Blackhawks Foundation invites befitting organizations to complete a formal grant application. These organizations are selected based on fit with CBF's mission (health and wellness, education), balance between our areas of giving, and the available funds to use for grants that year. Letters of inquiry will be accepted through January 31, 2019.

Nonprofit organizations that are eligible to submit a full application will be notified mid-March and applications are collected mid-April. Grant applicants seeking funding under the focus of Health and Wellness can apply for funding from Chicago Blackhawks Foundation, and those interested in Education can apply through the Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation. Grant recipients are typically notified in October. Click here for the grant guidelines for the Chicago Blackhawks Community Fund, or call the Blackhawks at 312-455-7000 for any further questions.
