Fresh off a win against the Minnesota Wild, the Colorado Avalanche are set to face off against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night at Ball Arena. Puck drop begins at 6 P.M. MT.

The Avalanche bested their Central Division foe 6-3 as the Wild are still looking for their first win of the season.


HISTORY

Colorado has faced Winnipeg 52 times during the regular season in the franchise's history, going 26-20-1-5 against the Jets.
In addition to the close all-time record, the Avalanche have scored 153 goals against the Jets, while the Jets have scored 154. The two teams have never faced each other in the postseason.


CONNECTIONS

Peter Ratchuk, Winnipeg's Director of Professional Scouting was Colorado's first round pick (25th overall) in the 1996 NHL Draft. Ratchuk would never play a game for the Avalanche.

The Jets' Mike Keane, who now works in player development played a total of four seasons (two separate stints) with the Avs, tallying 64 points (27G/37A) in 223 appearances.


SCOUTING THE JETS

Tonight's game is the second game of a three-game road trip and the first game of a back-to-back for Winnipeg, both of which will conclude tomorrow in Vegas against the Golden Knights.
Most recently, the Jets suffered a 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars on Monday night. Mark Scheifele scored the sole goal for Winnipeg. Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves on 29 shots. The Jets were 0-for-5 on the power play.


LINEUP UPDATES

Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog remains out with a lower-body injury. Veteran center Darren Helm is also sidelined after undergoing offseason surgery. Defenseman Jacob MacDonald has been practicing and travelled with the team to Minnesota but did not play.
The team announced on Tuesday afternoon that forwards Ben Meyers was reassigned to the Colorado Eagles (AHL) and Lukas Sedlak was placed on waivers. In return, forward Martin Kaut was recalled from the Eagles.
The Jets currently are without Axel Jonsson-Fjallby (non-injury related) and Mason Appleton (undisclosed).

Center Nathan MacKinnon has the most career points against Winnipeg of the players currently on the roster, holding 31 points (13G/18A) in 32-career outings.
Forward Gabriel Landeskog is a close second with 28 points (15G/13A), also in 32 contests.
