J.C. Beaudin (Rouyn-Noranda Huskies): The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies played three games this last week and struggled to find success as they went 0-3. Rouyn-Noranda began the week with an 3-2 loss over Shawinigan on Wednesday. Avs prospect J.C. Beaudin assisted on a goal in the defeat. On Friday, Beaudin found the back of net, but the Huskies lost 3-2 to Blainville-Boisbriand. The team skated against Victoriaville the next day and fell 5-3. Rouyn-Noranda finished the regular season 43-18-7 (93 points), winning its division and earning the No. 2 seed for the QMJHL Playoffs. The Huskies will play the Halifax Mooseheads on Friday in the start of a best-of-seven first round series. Beaudin finished the regular season with 80 points, picking up 30 goals and 50 assists in 65 games.
Nicolas Meloche (Charlottetown Islanders): The Charlottetown Islanders finished up their final three games of the regular season last week, going 1-2. On Wednesday, the team lost 6-5 to the Halifax Mooseheads but won 6-3 on Friday versus the Saint John Seadogs. On Saturday, the team lost 5-2 to Acadie-Bathurst. Colorado prospect Nicolas Meloche added a goal in the victory on Friday, increasing his season total to 47 points (16 goals and 31 assists) in 61 regular season games. The Islanders finished with a 46-18-4 record and 96 points. They are fourth in the QMJHL standings after finishing second in the Maritimes Division. The Islanders will face Baie-Comeau, one of Meloche's former clubs, in the best-of-seven Round 1 series that begins on Friday.
