CENTENNIAL, Colo.--Before making the trek to Vegas to play the Golden Knights this evening in the Colorado Avalanche's preseason opener, the playing roster participated in the Avs first morning skate of the year at Family Sports Center.
Colorado will use a young roster for the exhibition outing with a few veteran players mixed in.
"Our veteran guys will play two or three and there's some guys that we need to look at hard," head coach Jared Bednar said on Monday. "Some of our young guys, see what they can do in exhibition. Some of the guys that are depth call up guys--we'll let those guys battle it out and see, give them lots of opportunity and mix in our veterans as we get along. Some guys we want to get some games in right away. Usually, early exhibition there is a young lineup that you're going to face for a few games, so we'll have a young lineup going [on Tuesday]."
