Josh Anderson Swift Current Broncos Memorial Cup Hamilton Bulldogs

The Swift Current Broncos fell 2-1 to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Monday at Brandt Center in each team's second outing of the 2018 Memorial Cup.
Early in the first period, the Bulldogs registered a power-play goal but the Broncos tied the game with a man-advantage marker of their own midway through the second stanza to even the score at 1-1.
The Ontario Hockey League champion Hamilton broke the tie by recording the game-winning marker with just 2:01 left in regulation after peppering Swift Current goaltender Stuart Skinner throughout the matchup. The Bulldogs outshot the Broncos 56-22 and earned their first win of the tournament.

Colorado Avalanche prospect and Swift Current defenseman Josh Anderson recorded two shots on goal in the loss.
The Broncos wrap up round-robin play on Wednesday against their rival and the host Regina Pats. The Broncos defeated the Pats in seven games in the first round of the WHL Playoffs en route to their league championship.
"They've had quite the time to come out and practice and be ready to go for the Memorial Cup," Anderson said of the rematch with Regina before the tournament began. "We're not really sure what we're going to see from them, but we just need to take it one game at a time."
Avs prospect Nick Henry and the Pats won their first outing of the 2018 Memorial Cup, 3-2 over the Bulldogs, and fell 8-6 to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Sunday. Henry is tied for fourth among all skaters with four points (two goals, two assists) through two outings.
The matchup between the Broncos and Pats will be the tournament's final game of round-robin play. It is a must-win for Swift Current for a chance to advance.
