SEATTLE, Washington -- The Wild faces the Seattle Kraken tonight at 9:00 p.m. CT on Wild+ and KFAN FM 100.3. Coming off a 2-1 loss to the Calgary Flames on Thursday night, Minnesota is looking to get back into the win column against a team it has had success against, winning its last five games against Seattle. Per Stats Perform, the Wild has also won seven consecutive games played at Climate Pledge Arena, the third-longest streak against any NHL team in franchise history.

Tonight marks the third game of a five-game trip for Minnesota, with games against Vancouver and Utah coming next. In the first two games of the trip, the Wild fell to Edmonton and Calgary, both of which could be attributed to special teams play. The Wild gave up three power play goals to Edmonton, including the game-winning goal in overtime and allowed Calgary to capitalize on two of their three opportunities in the first period, which was ultimately the difference.

For what it’s worth, the Wild has yet to lose consecutive games in regulation this season and its current two-game skid matches its longest of the season. In addition, the previous two times Minnesota lost in regulation, it went on to win two consecutive games each time, outscoring its opponents 15-8 in those situations.

Seattle enters tonight with a 7-3-1 record, its best start in franchise history, and has earned a point in six of its last seven games (5-0-1). Former Wild forward, Freddy Gaudreau, is a big part of the Kraken’s early success, leading the team with six goals and ranking T-4th with eight points (6-2=8). Seattle has scored at least three goals in each of its last four games and currently ranks seventh in the NHL with 42 goals this season.

Players to Watch:

Kirill Kaprizov: His seven-game point streak came to an end in Calgary, but Seattle could be a good matchup to get back on track. In 12 career games against the Kraken, Kaprizov has collected 17 points (6-11=17) and has five goals in his last six games.

Matt Boldy: He is looking to extend his point streak to 11 games against the Kraken (9-7=16). He has also recorded five multi-point games in the midst of his 10-game streak.
