Utah Hockey Club announced today the signing of forward Owen Allard to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Allard, 20, posted 18-26-44 in 55 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) games with the Soo Greyhounds last season, setting new career highs in goals, assists, and points. He finished sixth on the team in assists, tied for sixth in points, and fifth in plus/minus (+18). The Renfrew, Ontario native also represented Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Championship, tallying 2-1-3 in five games.
Allard has registered 35-40-75 in 135 career games with Soo over his three OHL seasons and has added 4-2-6 in 20 playoff appearances. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound forward also scored the first four goals of his postseason career in 2024, ranking fourth in that category among all Greyhounds skaters during the playoffs.
Before entering the OHL, Allard played one season in France in 2020-21. He recorded 4-1-5 in four games with Caen’s under-20 team and registered 7-3-10, including a team-high seven goals in four games, at the under-17 level.
Allard was drafted by Utah in the fifth round (135th overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft.
