Utah Hockey Club announced today the signing of defenseman Terrell Goldsmith to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Goldsmith, 19, is currently in his fifth Western Hockey League (WHL) season and his first with the Tri-City Americans. He has skated in four games for Tri-City and was named an alternate captain on Oct. 2.
Goldsmith recorded 3-12-15 in 66 WHL games with the Prince Albert Raiders last season, setting new career highs in assists, points, and games played. The 6-foot-4, 223-pound defenseman was also assessed a career-high 122 penalty minutes (PIM), including four fighting majors, and spent time on the Raiders’ second-ranked penalty kill (84.3%).
The Fort St. James, British Columbia, native has earned 10-20-30 and 287 PIM in 189 career WHL games with Prince Albert and Tri-City, and he added an assist in seven playoff appearances with the Raiders in 2022 and 2024.
Goldsmith was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft.
