The Ottawa Senators “Drop the Puck Program” is an “Introduction to Hockey” initiative that’s focus is to provide new fans to hockey a solid foundational understanding of the sport, and to get them equipped for the opportunity to play hockey and become lifelong Sens fans. This program’s target demographic will focus on new Canadians aged 18 years or older.

This program was created by the Ottawa Senators as part of the overall goal to promote long-term fan development and increase participation in all levels of hockey. Programs such as First Shift focus on introducing youth to hockey. The Drop the Puck program builds on this foundation by encouraging parents to share in their child’s learning journey, or by providing adults new to the sport a supportive and welcoming place to connect with others and embrace Canada’s game. With emphasis on an older demographic, the objective is to enhance the education and overall impact of hockey with participants, that can then be transferred and shared with friends and family.

As part of the Senators Drop the Puck Program, participants will receive:

  • A “Hockey 101” presentation from Senators personnel on the basics of hockey.
  • Tour of the arena / photo worthy moments.
  • Food and beverages for the evening.
  • Watch an Ottawa Senators away game on our Bell HD screen.
  • Ottawa Senators Merchandise discount.
  • Discounted tickets to an upcoming home Ottawa Senators Hockey game.
