Status report
Matthews took part in Toronto's optional skate Saturday in Winnipeg and is expected to return after missing practice Friday. ... Simmons will make his season debut in place of Aube-Kubel comes out. ... Ehlers will miss his third straight game and was placed on injured reserve Friday, retroactive to Oct. 18. Jets coach Rick Bowness said the forward will need another 7-10 days before returning. ... Samberg, a defenseman, is day to day with a lower-body injury. ... Bowness will coach his first game this season after contracting COVID-19.
