With their second selection in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft (89th overall), the Tampa Bay Lightning took Maxim Cajkovic, a Slovakian forward out of Saint John of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The right-handed shot Cajkovic stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 185 pounds. In his first season with Saint John in 2018-19, the 18 year old scored 22 goals and recorded 46 points in 60 games to lead the Sea Dogs in goals, assists (24) and scoring.
For his home country Slovakia, Cajkovic netted two goals and added two assists in four games at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. At the 2019 IIHF under-18 World Championship, he tallied seven points (3 goals, 4 assists) in seven contests.
Cajkovic, originally from Bratislava, Slovakia, was rated the 91st North American skater by NHL Central Scouting prior to the draft.
