Sabres fans give Dahlin’s fiancée warm ovation during 1st game back in Buffalo

Buffalo Sabres fans were thrilled to see Rasmus Dahlin’s fiancée back in the KeyBank Center stands on Wednesday.

The Sabres captain’s fiancée, Carolina Matovac, received a loud ovation from fans during her first game back in Buffalo since receiving a heart transplant over the summer.

Matovac waved to the camera as she was announced to the crowd. Dahlin grinned at the video board in a clip showed during the TNT broadcast.

In September, the couple announced Matovac received an emergency heart transplant after falling ill when they were on vacation in France.

Dahlin took a leave of absence from the Sabres in November to be with Matovac as she recovered from the surgery in Sweden.

Earlier this week, Matovac posted a picture of herself arriving in Buffalo for the first time this season on her Instagram story.
